Some people do worry about gambling being addictive and think that the fact that it is so easy to gamble on websites makes it worse.
Gambling is considered to be addictive for some people. Some of us tend to have addictive personalities where we find things more attractive and tend to be more likely to get addicted to things. We may be sensible and decide that drugs or cigarettes are too unhealthy, but get addicted to other things instead. Not everyone is like this though.
Online gambling is no more addictive than offline gambling and if you are not inclined to get addicted to things, then it will not be a problem for you. It is also wise to keep a budget when you are gambling. Only use money that you can afford to lose and spend a certain amount each session. This will prevent you from getting too carried away and losing money that you cannot afford to lose.
The gamblers fallacy is the worst trap to fall in to. People think that they deserve a win and so if they have a lost a lot of money, keep putting more in thinking that they must eventually win something because the law of averages will say they should. This is a dangerous way to think because the odds will always be stacked against you because the casino makes sure that it will make a profit from every player. This means that not everyone can win a prize bigger than the amount that they have spent and so you are much more likely to lose money than win. As long as you are aware of this, then you will not get yourself in to financial trouble or be irrational in your thoughts with regards to gambling.
So keep things fun and light hearted. Never spend more than you can afford to lose and if you feel that you are becoming addicted to playing, then stop for a while or stop altogether. If you want to play because it is fun, then this is fine, but if you are finding that you are struggling to live life without thinking about playing the game and it is interrupting your daily life, then it is time to think about not playing any more. Also if you are finding that it is costing you too much money, you need to stop playing.
